Taking Steps to Let Go

Happy Sunday evening!

As I type this post, my home-made chilli is bubbly away in my slow cooker. Yup, Sundays are my prep days where I usually do my meal planning, food shopping and cook up a few meals ready for my lunches for the next week. Planning ahead and being organised is by far the...
main thing that keeps my healthy lifestyle in check, otherwise I would be heading to the local shop during my lunch break and making the wrong choices. Sweet chilli crisps and a huge bar of Cadburys caramel to be precise!

I thought I'd share this weeks meal plan as I know I haven't shared one for a while. So my meals for the week look like this:

Monday
Breakfast = Yogurt, cashews and green tea
Lunch = Chicken & Olives and salad
Dinner = Chilli, brown rice and green beans

Tuesday
Breakfast = Yogurt, cashews and green tea
Lunch = Chilli and green beans
Dinner = Sriracha Chicken Salad

Wednesday
Breakfast = Yogurt, cashews and green tea
Lunch = Chicken & Olives and salad
Dinner = Chinese Chicken Salad

Thursday
Breakfast = Yogurt, cashews and green tea
Lunch = Chinese Chicken Salad
Dinner = Chicken Mango Burgers (without bun) and salad

Friday
Breakfast = Yogurt, cashews and green tea
Lunch = Chicken Mango Burgers and Salad
Dinner = Stuffed Chicken Breasts with Goats Cheese and Sundried Tomatoes with Sweet Potato wedges and veggies

I'm already looking forward to my meals this week! I did try out an amazing recipe today which was AWESOME!

I know, my picture taking skills leave alot to be desired but I promise you this recipe is like a party in your mouth. I've never made oven roasted garlic tomatoes and they are so simple, yet so tasty. I can not wait to make this dish again! Click here for the recipe
Remember you can always access my Pintrest Board to see what else I'm trying, although after going through the blog that I found the above recipe on, I did end up pinning quite a few 'unclean' recipes! Stuff to try when I've reached goal for sure!

Today has been quite a busy day, quite abit of housework and I finally tackled sorting out my bedroom. Honestly if you had seen it earlier on today, you would have thought that a clothes bomb had gone off in there, I had clothes everywhere! But today I've sorted out all my 'skinny' clothes into size piles and in order so as I lose weight, I know which pile I can start 'trying on' so to speak. And I finally bit the bullet and I sorted through all my clothes I currently wear and put all the size 18-20 clothes into bin bags, leaving room for my size 16 stuff to take proud place in my wardrobe.  I managed to fill 2 bags full of clothes that I no longer can fit into or don't want to wear any more (old and faded, I seem to accumulate black basic tops like they're going out of fashion!). I'm still not sure if I'm ready for this kind of break up from my 'fat clothes'. The bags are still in my house for now, I'm going to let my sister and my mum go through them in case they want anything (some of the stuff still has tags on!) and eventually they will be going to a clothing bin.

But I'm still scared.

I'm scared I'm going to do what I always do and return to my old habits and put the weight back on again. But one thing that I make sure I do on this journey is take it one day at a time. Maintaining my goal weight is quite far off in the future, I've still got around 40lbs to go. Worrying about maintaining my goal weight isn't going to help me right now, I need to focus on staying healthy today/tomorrow, drinking lots of water, getting a work out in and eating the right foods.

Really really need to amp up my exercise as from tomorrow. I know my PT won't be pleased to read this but I've been so lazy this week. But my gym bag is packed, ready for tomorrow and I aim to get at least 3 gym sessions in this week.

Until next time

Much Love

  1. Keep going :) I lost 2 lbs this week, after gaining some last week. I was pretty dispointed, but now I'm ready to go!

    I think the quicker you get rid of your "fat" clothes, the more motivated you'll be!

    1. Hey Stephanie

      Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.

      Congratulations on your weight loss! How are you getting on with your journey?

      The 'fat' clothes are still in the bin liners! Will get my family to go through them tomorrow and see if they want anything. Then they are off to a charity clothing bin! If my jeans get tight then I don't have a 'fat' pair to fall back on once they're gone, scary stuff!

      I hope you are well and have a lovely Easter xx

  2. Hey =) The zuchini "pasta" looks super yummy. I've been wanting to buy a spiralizer for a while so I can make pasta out of other veggies. I hope you start this week super motivated =)

    1. Hey hun

      You have to try the 'pasta' it really is yummy! Just having it in the shape of spaghetti makes your mind think you're eating pasta and not a veggie.
      I would love a spiralizer but there are so many I don't know which one to choose, plus I don't want to spend more than £20.00 on one. But I want to use other veggies too. Let me know if you try this recipe out and I hope you like it!

      xx
