New Gym Outfit and Meal Plan

Another week gone! Time is flying by again. As  long as we get through this cold weather we're having and time slows down during summer, I will be happy. I'm definitely more of a summer person than a winter person. There is nothing fun about scraping the ice from your car in -4 conditions!

Weekly weigh in #16 will be here tomorrow! Although
I've just checked my calendar and realised that my monthly thing is due this week and that always slows down my weight loss so if I have lost 2lbs this week it will be a miracle!

So meal plan is done for next week although I think I must have been half asleep when I did it Friday night as I've managed to put down the same meal four times (I only make 2 servings of each meal I cook and never have the same meal 4 times a week) and I seemed to have forgotten about Friday's dinner completely! So will have to come up with three meals for the latter part of the week. I am trying out 2 new recipes this week which I am looking forward to. Here's an insight as to what I'm having this week:

Monday
Breakfast: Yogurt and 1 litre of green tea (sounds like alot of green tea but I drink my tea from these cute Kilner style jars and they hold 500ml each so I'll have 2 of them for breakfast). Pic below
Lunch: Chicken Salad. Recipe Here I actually substitute the pomegranate for chicken as I've eaten it with and without the pomegranate and preferred it without  (strange I know!). Also pepetias are pumpkin seeds as I had to Google them to find out what they were!
Dinner: Sesame Chicken with quinoa. Recipe here . Usually I would have brown rice with this but I've already got quinoa in my cupboard so thought I'd use that instead
Snacks: 1 apple and 1 mandarin

Tuesday
Breakfast: Yogurt and 1 litre of green tea
Lunch: Chicken Chasseur and salad. No link to recipe on this one as I saw it on an FB post but once I've tried it I will see if the person who posted it minds me sharing it on my blog :)
Dinner: Spinach and Mushroom Quinoa. Recipe here
Snacks: 1 apple and 1 mandarin

Wednesday
Breakfast: Yogurt and 1 litre of green tea
Lunch: Chicken Salad, same as Monday
Dinner: ??
Snacks: 1 apple and 1 mandarin

Thursday
Breakfast: Yogurt and 1 litre of green tea
Lunch: Chicken Chasseur and salad
Dinner: Spinach and Mushroom Quinoa.

Friday

I have yet to come up with! Although I have seen this Glow Bowl recipe that I've pinned that I might try....

I have been starting to feel that I'm eating too much chicken as I tend to have it in most of my meals. So there are 2 things I am going to do to combat this. One is to venture out into buying some turkey or chicken mince then I can try some lettuce wrap recipes or try a chilli with it. Turkey and chicken have more protein and are leaner than beef mince and fewer calories as well. Its just getting over the thought of using turkey or chicken in dishes that typically call for beef mince! Two is to try and incorporate more vegetable dishes, hence the Spinach and Mushroom quinoa recipe this week.

Good things that happened this week:

*Finding a new flavour of green tea that I like - Tetley Apple and Blackcurrant, thank god I found this as I ran out of my favourite Raspberry one and Asda were out of stock this week!
*Seeing my niece - Babysat for a few hours Saturday, love spending quality time with her
*Bought a new Bobble - I don't like drinking tap water and bottled mineral water is just too expensive when you're drinking 2 litres a day. A Bobble is a great option as it comes with its own built in filter so you can fill it up with tap water and it filters out all the nasties. And it comes in a range of colours, of course I had to get the pink one! Asda currently have them on sale at £6.00 each reduced from £8.00. You have to replace the filter every 2 months and you can purchase them separately for £5.00 in Asda (think they were £4.00 in the sale this week).
*Finding a blog planner online and sharing it with my blogging friend Jemma :) - Aiming to take blogging seriously this year and I found some links to some blog planners which will keep me organised this year
*Bought new gym outfit - again from Asda! I don't like to spend too much on gym clothes as the aim is to get smaller so each outfit would only last for a few months. So far I've been wearing black tops and black trackies in size 20 which are boring and also too big for me now. So I had a look around George for something alittle more colourful and found a new top in a 16 and bottoms in an 18 (having a pear shaped body means a buying a bigger size in bottoms). Haven't tried them on yet but hoping they fit!

Hope you have a good week!

Until next time

Much Love

  1. Ooh I'm glad I've found your blog! I'm on my own weight loss journey and have a LOT to shed so its great to read motivational blogs :) out of interest, how come you decided to drink so much green tea in a single sitting? I drink 3 cups a day as well as water. I pee for England! Haha
Look forwards to following the rest of your journey.

  2. Hi Bex

Nice to meet you and thank you for your comments :)
I drink 2 litres of water a day as well as the 2 glass mugs of green tea and pee for England too! I really like the taste of the raspberry green tea and used to just have 1 cup with breakfast and now I've started to have one as soon as I get into work as well, then have breakfast an hour later so not completely in one sitting so apologies for any confusion!
How are you getting on with your journey? I'm going to pop over to your blog to have a read! Thank you for sharing :)

    1. Oh right. That's makes more sense. Lol. I'll have to try that flavour, I've had green tea with lemon which is ok but I actually don't mind the taste of green tea.
By the way another meal I like is chilli made with Turkey mince and loads of different veggies, tin chopped toms and chilli powder/herbs etc then serve on cauliflower 'rice' :D delish x

    2. Definitely try it! Twinings do a rather extensive range of Green Teas but I don't really like any of the flavours they do. However if you wanted to try some and not buy all the boxes there is a seller on eBay who sells a selection of them so you can sample them! The link is:

But for me, its Tetley all the way!

I love Chilli! Can you taste the difference when you use turkey mince? xx

    3. Great thanks hunny :)

I can't tell the difference, once you add all the chilli powder and stuff it's just protein. Defo try it hun. It's way less fatty than beef :) xx
